Vinicius Tobias, the former Real Madrid full-back, recently found himself in a surprising situation after tattooing his arm with the name of a child he believed to be his. The Brazilian player, now competing in the Ukrainian Premier League with Shakhtar Donetsk, learned that the child, born on October 8, is not actually his.
Tobias celebrated the birth of the baby girl, Maite, with a tattoo that includes her name and the phrase “te amo,” meaning “I love you” in Portuguese. The child was born to his ex-girlfriend, Ingrid Lima, despite their separation.
However, Lima took to Instagram to inform her 103,000 followers that Tobias is not Maite’s father. She revealed that after their breakup, she entered into a relationship with another man. A paternity test confirmed that Tobias was not the father.
In her post, Lima stated, “I came to give a statement about something that is getting annoying and that, unfortunately, I would have to come out on publicly to give you an explanation. Vinicius and I haven’t been together for a while. During that time, I was in a relationship with someone, and so was he. We both moved on with our lives. In the meantime, Maite came along. We decided to do a DNA test, and Maite is not Vinicius’ daughter.”
At just 20 years old, Tobias signed with Real Madrid’s academy after the ongoing war in Ukraine limited his ability to play for Shakhtar Donetsk, following his move from the Brazilian club Internacional. During his two years in Spain, he made only one appearance before finally debuting for Donetsk this season.
