Ghana Police Thwart Armed Robbery Attempt, Four Arrested in Kumasi

The Anti-Robbery Unit of the Ghana Police Service in Kumasi successfully thwarted an armed robbery attempt on October 13, 2024, leading to the arrest of four suspects.

Shadrack Anartey, Emmanuel Agyei Donkor, Abu Ali, and Abubakar Buba were apprehended by the Konongo Divisional Taskforce while traveling in a Nissan Urvan bus with the registration number AS 4353 -15. The arrests followed a tip-off received by the police around 1900 hours.

A police report indicated that a search of the bus revealed two AK-47 rifles, three magazines, and 86 rounds of ammunition concealed in a compartment of the vehicle.

“The team intercepted the vehicle driven by Anartey with Donkor, Ali of Fulani extraction, and Buba, a Nigerian on board,” the report noted.

The suspects are currently assisting the police with their investigations and will soon face arraignment.
