A devastating road accident has struck the 11 Mechanised Battalion in Bawku, resulting in the loss of one military officer’s life and leaving five others critically injured.
The tragic incident occurred near Binduri in the Upper East Region. Eyewitnesses reported that the military vehicle, bearing registration number 15 GA 04, was traveling from Bawku towards Bazua when it suddenly veered off the road and somersaulted multiple times.
“The vehicle was traveling from Bawku towards Bazua when it abruptly veered off the road and somersaulted,” an eyewitness recounted.
The violent crash claimed the life of one officer on the spot, while five others sustained severe injuries. Emergency responders swiftly transported the injured officers to the Bolgatanga Regional Hospital and the Tamale Teaching Hospital for urgent medical treatment.
An investigation into the cause of the accident is expected to commence shortly.
