  • Arrest reportedly sparked by video mocking Burna Boy

Popular content creator and musician Speed Darlington has reportedly been missing for the past three days, raising concerns among fans and followers.

In a video shared on social media, Speed Darlington’s mother claimed that her son was arrested by Burna Boy after he made fun of the Grammy-winning artist. The news of Speed Darlington’s disappearance began circulating online on October 8, 2024, with reports indicating that he was taken into custody at his residence three days prior.

In her emotional video, Speed Darlington’s mother expressed her distress, revealing that she had only recently learned of her son’s situation following the release of a video mocking Nigerian music superstar Burna Boy. In the controversial clip, Speed Darlington humorously questioned how Burna Boy obtained his Grammy award for the album Twice As Tall, which features American rapper P Diddy as an executive producer. This mockery comes in the wake of P Diddy’s arrest by the FBI on multiple charges related to sexual exploitation, human trafficking, and slavery, leading to various disparaging comments about Burna Boy online.

In her plea for assistance, Speed Darlington’s mother went down on her knees, urging Burna Boy to “tamper justice with mercy” and release her only son from detention. She also called on concerned Nigerians to help, expressing her helplessness as she does not reside in Nigeria and fears for her son’s well-being while in custody.

As of now, Burna Boy’s camp has not confirmed or denied involvement in the alleged arrest, and the Nigeria Police Force has yet to issue a statement regarding the matter.
