“Tithing Was for Levites, Not Modern Pastors” – Kofi Gabs Criticizes Pastor Otabil

Netherlands-based Ghanaian political commentator and content creator, Kofi Gabs, popularly known as Mr. Happiness, has launched a scathing critique against Pastor Mensa Otabil, founder of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC).

A former member of ICGC, Kofi Gabs condemned Otabil’s practice of collecting tithes from his followers, citing Biblical inconsistencies. “In the Bible, tithing was specifically for the Levites,” Gabs argued. “It’s not as common as modern preachers make it out to be.”

Gabs accused Otabil of deliberately avoiding preachings from certain Biblical passages that could expose his flaws. “He’s aware of this, which is why he avoids preaching from those parts,” Gabs claimed.

Furthermore, Gabs alleged that ICGC rebranded tithing as “first fruit” to circumvent Biblical teachings and protect Otabil’s interests. “ICGC changed the name to first fruit to help Otabil avoid the teachings of the Bible,” he stated.

Kofi Gabs’ criticism raises questions about the financial practices of some religious institutions and their leaders.

No official response has been issued by Pastor Otabil or ICGC regarding Kofi Gabs’ allegations.
