Justice Served: Six Suspects Remanded for Lynching of Prisons Officer

The Ghana Prisons Service has confirmed a tragic incident involving the alleged lynching of one of its officers. Lance Corporal Gideon Adu Boakye, stationed at the Nsawam Medium Security Prison, met his untimely demise on September 29, 2024.

According to reports, Lance Corporal Boakye had sought permission to visit his relatives at Kasoa Iron City. However, his trip took a devastating turn when he was allegedly besieged and lynched by a group of unknown assailants.

The Ghana Prisons Service issued a statement on Sunday, condemning the brutal attack and announcing its collaboration with the Police to investigate the circumstances surrounding the officer’s death.

The statement assured that the Prisons Administration is working closely with law enforcement to unravel the facts behind the gruesome murder.

So far, six suspects have been apprehended in connection with the lynching. The suspects, comprising four females and two males, have been arraigned before the court and remanded for further investigation.
