Ghanaian highlife and Afrobeats artist Kelvynboy has shared insights into his ongoing attempts to mend his relationship with fellow musician Stonebwoy. In a candid discussion with Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz, he expressed his desire for resolution.
“I’ve been trying for years. It is not the first thing I think about when I wake up from bed but when it comes to my issue with Stonebwoy, I wish we thrashed it out,” Kelvynboy stated. He added, “Any time we’ve tried I don’t think he’s ready. But me, I dey.”
The rift between the two artists began in 2019 when Stonebwoy ended their professional relationship after Kelvynboy had been signed to Burniton Music Group. A press release from the label clarified that their agreement, established on January 22, 2018, had an initial one-year term with the option for a four-year extension. However, the contract expired on January 21, 2019, and the extension was not activated.
Despite the formal separation, the company continued to work with Kelvynboy until an audit revealed the agreement’s expired status. The release confirmed that the decision was made to release Kelvynboy from the contract, marking the end of his association with both the company and the BHIM Nation brand. The statement concluded by wishing him success in his future endeavors.
Prior to the split, Kelvynboy had publicly apologized to Stonebwoy after being accused of disrespecting him. Since their separation, Kelvynboy has found success with hit songs and albums, making significant strides in the international music scene. He has recently released a new track titled “Man Down,” featuring Lasmid.
