Music legend Sting has been confirmed as the first headline act for the Latitude Festival in 2025. The former frontman of The Police will grace the main stage at Henham Park, near Southwold in Suffolk, from July 24 to 27.
Festival-goers can expect to hear a selection of classics, including “Fields of Gold,” “Every Breath You Take,” “Roxanne,” and “Message in a Bottle,” among others.
Melvin Benn, the festival director, expressed excitement about Sting’s performance, especially following the launch of his new Sting 3.0 shows. “We’re thrilled to announce Sting as our first headliner for Latitude 2025,” Mr. Benn stated. “His unparalleled artistry and the exciting new direction of the STING 3.0 shows perfectly align with Latitude’s mission to deliver a rich and diverse cultural experience.”
Benn highlighted Sting’s remarkable ability to transcend musical boundaries, noting, “Sting’s extraordinary ability to transcend musical boundaries and deliver unforgettable live performances makes him an exceptional addition to next year’s lineup.”
Latitude Festival is renowned for its captivating mix of global headliners and emerging talent, with Sting being just the first of many incredible acts to be revealed. “There’s much more to come,” Benn added.
Sting 3.0 will feature his longtime collaborator, virtuoso guitarist Dominic Miller, along with drummer Chris Maas, known for his work with the band Mumford & Sons.
Born Gordon Sumner in Northumberland, Sting formed The Police in 1977, achieving massive popularity before transitioning to a successful solo career following the band’s split in the 1980s. Over the years, he has garnered numerous accolades, including 17 Grammy Awards, two Brit Awards, and a Golden Globe.
