The Coalition of NABCO Trainees has made an urgent appeal to the National Peace Council to intervene in the long-standing crisis surrounding unpaid allowance arrears. This issue has plagued trainees since 2021, causing widespread frustration and disillusionment.
Representing thousands of affected individuals, the coalition expressed deep concern over the prolonged delays and issued a stern warning. They announced plans for a large-scale demonstration at Jubilee House, just before the upcoming elections, if their grievances remain unaddressed.
The coalition hopes the National Peace Council’s intervention will resolve the issue and prevent escalation. In a formal petition, they highlighted the severe impact of unpaid allowances on livelihoods and national security.
Despite numerous petitions to the President and relevant ministries, the issue remains unresolved. The trainees have exhausted all avenues, and patience is wearing thin.
David Peterson, organizer of the aggrieved NABCO trainees, along with Nana Tachie Eric, Deborah Enam Sogbey, and Nana Berimah Asamoah, signed the petition. They urged the Peace Council to engage with the President to expedite the settlement of arrears.
