Germany kicked off their Nations League campaign with a resounding 5-0 victory over Hungary in a match that showcased their attacking prowess and defensive solidity.
The home side took control of the game early on, with Niclas Fullkrug opening the scoring after a well-executed passing move involving Jamal Musiala.
Musiala himself doubled Germany’s lead with a stunning solo goal, running through from his own half and slotting the ball past the Hungarian goalkeeper.
Florian Wirtz, who had assisted Musiala’s goal, added a third for Germany with a powerful shot from 16 yards. Aleksandar Pavlovic, making his debut for Germany, scored the fourth goal with a low shot.
Kai Havertz, who had been unlucky not to score earlier in the match, completed Germany’s comfortable win with a penalty.
The victory was a positive start for Julian Nagelsmann’s side as they look to build on their success in the Nations League.
