Former Akwatia MP, Baba Jamal, has expressed disappointment with the government’s approach to addressing illegal mining, or “galamsey.”
He criticized the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) for worsening the crisis through mismanagement.
Jamal accused the Akufo-Addo administration of using galamsey as a political tool without taking effective action.
He revealed that despite offering suggestions along with other opposition members, the government failed to consider their input.
Jamal admitted that Ghana has failed to effectively tackle the problem of illegal mining, highlighting the ongoing environmental degradation.
He emphasized the need for a more decisive approach to address this pressing issue.
