The National Democratic Congress (NDC) running mate, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, has cautioned electorates against being deceived by the sudden appearance of government projects across the country.

She made this statement while addressing market women at the New Takoradi Market as part of her three-day campaign tour of the Western Region.

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang noted that the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia government has a habit of initiating projects during election periods to deceive and arm-twist electorates for votes, only to abandon them later.

She cited the example of the New Takoradi Market redevelopment project, which was launched in 2020 but has since stalled.

The NDC running mate contrasted this with the NDC’s track record of completing projects, such as the Kejetia market and Kotokoraba market, within a reasonable timeframe.

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang also mentioned the abandoned railway project started by the Mahama administration in Takoradi, highlighting the NPP government’s lack of commitment to development.

She emphasized that the NDC has been faithful to the people of the Western Region, promoting development across all sectors, and it’s time for Takoradi voters to change their voting pattern.

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang highlighted the incoming Mahama administration’s plans for job creation through initiatives like the 24-Hour Economy, the Big Push, and the National Apprenticeship program.

She urged electorates to vote for the NDC in the upcoming December 7 general elections to benefit from these initiatives.

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang believes that Ghanaians can look forward to a brighter future with tangible development and progress.
