NDC Dismisses EC’s Claims of Reliable Voter Register

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has rejected the Electoral Commission’s (EC) claims that errors in the voters’ register were genuine mistakes.

The NDC had accused the EC of deliberately transferring voters to different centers without their knowledge.

The party demanded an explanation from the EC on how the errors occurred. Dr. Eric Bossman Asare, EC’s Deputy Chairman, admitted to errors but denied any intention to aid rigging.

He explained that 38 individuals were transferred using an EC official’s credentials, with records captured in the Voter Management System’s audit logs.

Dr. Asare assured that the EC has no intention of bloating the register to favor any party. However, Dr. Rashid Tanko-Computer, NDC’s Deputy Director of Elections and IT, disputed the EC’s claims.

He alleged that the EC had done something similar during the proxy window, accepting proxies without biometric processes.

Dr. Tanko-Computer suggested that the EC was aware of the discrepancies but chose to defend the register’s integrity instead of addressing the issues.

He maintained that the EC’s claims of a robust and credible register were a “farce” and that the NDC’s actions brought the issues to light.
