Akufo-Addo Pushes for Rapid Completion of Key Road Projects
- $200 million project initiated in March 2017
- $300 million project with three lanes completion delayed by nearly a year
- Sections of both projects are expected to open by the end of the year
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo expressed strong approval of the ongoing work on the motorway flyover and Ofankor-Nsawam road projects during his recent inspection tour.
While acknowledging the progress made, Akufo-Addo urged contractors to accelerate their efforts to meet the anticipated completion deadlines.
The motorway flyover, a $200 million venture that began in March 2017, includes the construction of additional ramps, enhancements at the Flowerpot roundabout, and improved access to East Legon.
At the Ofankor-Nsawam project site, the President was warmly welcomed by enthusiastic party supporters. This $300 million initiative features three lanes, service roads, and interchanges, though its completion has been delayed by nearly a year.
Nonetheless, some sections are expected to be open to traffic by the end of the year. Akufo-Addo praised the high quality of the work and encouraged continued diligence to ensure the project’s full realization.
