A Ugandan man identified as Ddamulira Godfrey, who claims to be a traditional healer, has been discovered with 24 human skulls, raising suspicions of involvement in human sacrifices.

The police have indicated that he could face a life sentence under the Prevention and Prohibition of Human Sacrifice Act.

Patrick Onyango, the police spokesperson, revealed that Mr. Godfrey’s shrine, located in the suburbs of Kampala, also contained animal remains and skins.

Animal remains and skins were also found in the suspect’s shrine

The authorities are continuing their investigation, searching for additional human remains at the site.

According to Onyango, Mr. Godfrey will be charged under the Prevention and Prohibition of Human Sacrifice Act, which outlaws the possession of human body parts and related sacrificial tools. A conviction could result in a life sentence.

Although Mr. Godfrey presents himself as a herbalist and healer, the Traditional Healers’ Association of Uganda has disassociated itself from him.

This incident follows a similar case last month, when police unearthed 17 human skulls from another shrine in Mpigi, linked to ritualistic sacrifices. Such practices are believed by some in Africa to bring fortune or curse adversaries.
