New Patriotic Party (NPP) Flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has proudly highlighted his record as Vice President of Ghana. He emphasized notable achievements, including the establishment of a national ID system and the introduction of birth certificates and national IDs for all children, which he considers significant milestones.
During a media briefing in Accra on August 25, Dr. Bawumia underscored the advancements made under the Akufo-Addo administration. He compared the current administration’s performance to that of the previous Mahama government, asserting that they have made substantial progress across nearly all sectors.
Dr. Bawumia commented, “When you examine the transformation in Ghana and the state of the economy before our administration, our achievements are evident. I take immense pride in our record and the progress we’ve made.”
He also highlighted the establishment of a comprehensive digital address system, noting that it was a significant improvement after decades of challenges in this area. According to Dr. Bawumia, this achievement is a direct result of his initiatives and the current government’s efforts.
Looking to the future, Dr. Bawumia assured that the NPP’s policy proposals are designed to further revitalize the economy. He emphasized the party’s commitment to implementing these plans to ensure continued progress and development.
Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia asserted that Ghana requires an upgrade rather than a reset, promising to implement the measures outlined in the NPP’s recently launched manifesto if given the mandate. He emphasized his commitment to revitalizing the economy through these proposed reforms.
Dr. Bawumia took the opportunity to address former President John Dramani Mahama, who is from the National Democratic Congress (NDC). He challenged Mahama to review his own track record from his time in office before criticizing the current administration’s handling of the economy.
Dr. Bawumia expressed his astonishment at Mahama’s criticisms of economic mismanagement, suggesting that the former president’s comments are inconsistent with his own performance during his tenure.
He remarked, “I am often amazed when former President Mahama speaks about economic mismanagement. He should reflect on his own record in office before making such claims.”
In his statements, Dr. Bawumia reinforced his confidence in the NPP’s economic strategies and the effectiveness of the policies they propose to address Ghana’s economic challenges.
He concluded by reiterating his commitment to following through with the manifesto’s measures to ensure economic growth and stability if elected.
