Ghanaian dancehall and Afrobeats star Stonebwoy has called on the Recording Academy, organizers of the Grammy Awards, to address what he describes as an oversight in an article published on their website. The article, titled “10 Artists Essential To Ghanaian Hiplife: Reggie Rockstone, Sarkodie, Mzbel & More,” appeared on August 20 and highlighted influential Ghanaian musicians including Reggie Rockstone, Lord Kenya, Obrafour, VIP, Tinny, Mzbel, Sarkodie, Asakaa Boys, Black Sherif, and King Paluta.
Stonebwoy, whose contributions to the music scene span over a decade, expressed disappointment that his name was omitted from the list. In a tweet on X, he said, “Who ever wrote this article is interestingly missing THE NAME @stonebwoy.” He further emphasized his point by sharing his Grammy certificate as evidence of his significant role in the industry.
