Okada Rider Arrested for Raping Passenger and Shaving Her Pubic Hair

Jacob Damilare, a commercial motorcyclist, has been detained by the Osun State Police Command following allegations of sexually assaulting a female passenger.

The incident occurred on July 26, 2024, when the victim, a student from Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), hired Damilare for a ride from the university campus to Moro.

According to reports, Damilare diverted into a bush area near the RCC Junction along the Ilesa-Ibadan Expressway in Ile-Ife, where he robbed the passenger of her belongings, sexually assaulted her, and forcibly shaved her pubic hair.

In his confession, Damilare stated that the assault was triggered by the victim’s perceived rudeness after he made sexual advances during the journey. He claimed that he offered her a choice between sex or money, and she purportedly agreed to the former.

Osun police spokesperson Yemisi Opalola confirmed that Damilare threatened to kill the victim if she reported the assault. The stolen items included an iPhone XS Max, a Samsung Galaxy A71, an Airtel Wi-Fi device, and N20,000 in cash. The victim was taken to a police hospital in Osogbo for medical care. Damilare is expected to face charges in court after the investigation concludes.

In a related development, three individuals—Mukaila Teslim, 25, Bakare Azeez, 26, and Ajibola Soliu, 24—were also paraded for stealing $40,000, a plasma TV, a motorcycle, and three mobile phones from a workshop.
