Ghana Statistical Service Launches Ghana Stats App

The Ghana Statistical Service (GSS) has launched a groundbreaking mobile application, the Ghana Stats App, which provides district-level data from the 2010 and 2021 Population and Housing Censuses. This innovative app features 23 key indicators from the 2021 census, focusing on vital areas such as population management, healthcare, employment, and social protection, aligning with Ghana’s Vision 2057.

The Ghana Stats App offers a comprehensive comparison of data from 2010 and 2021 across 21 indicators, enabling users to track progress and identify trends over time. Additionally, the app provides population projections for each district for 2024 and 2030, facilitating informed decision-making and planning.

During the launch, Dr. Grace Bediako, Chairperson of the GSS Governing Board, highlighted the app’s ability to explore statistics for all 261 districts in Ghana, with rankings and indicators available at both national and regional levels. This user-friendly tool is designed to support progress tracking, targeted interventions, and enhanced statistical literacy, responding to the growing demand for accessible data tools at sub-national levels.

The Ghana Stats App complements other GSS tools, such as the GSS StatsBank and the Digital Census Atlas, providing disaggregated data for effective policymaking and ensuring no district is left behind. Dr. Bediako emphasized the importance of adopting data-driven decision-making to support national development goals and encouraged Ghanaians to utilize the app.

The Ghana Stats App is available for download on the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, and Huawei App Gallery, making it easily accessible to a wide audience. By providing timely and relevant data, the Ghana Stats App has the potential to revolutionize decision-making in Ghana, supporting sustainable development and improving the lives of citizens.
