Boxing star Bukom Banku has publicly criticized President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, accusing him of failing in his leadership role. Speaking on Class FM, Banku was outspoken about his dissatisfaction with the current administration.
“Nana Akufo-Addo cannot run the country,” Banku declared during the interview.
He further criticized the President for what he described as the mismanagement of the nation’s resources. Banku alleged that President Akufo-Addo has “sold off Ghana’s assets and everything,” and he lamented, “He’s taken all our money. There is no money in Ghana. Ghana is like an empty can now. No food, no water, no jobs. The youth are suffering.”
In light of his grievances, Banku questioned the ruling New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) strategy to “break the eight,” referring to their proposed plan to extend their political dominance beyond the traditional two-term limit. He expressed concern over the potential implications of such a move, suggesting that it could lead to further instability.
“And they claim they will break the eight. Do they want trouble in Ghana or what?” Banku asked.
