Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential candidate, has announced his plan to provide a bus to each team in the Ghanaian Premier League should he win the 2024 general elections.

This pledge was made during the unveiling of the NPP’s 2024 Manifesto, which Bawumia touted as featuring bold and innovative solutions.

As part of his comprehensive sports development agenda, Dr. Bawumia committed to addressing transportation challenges faced by Premier League clubs by supplying them with dedicated buses.

Additionally, he plans to promote private sector investment in sports through tax incentives, including a flat tax system, aimed at encouraging corporate contributions.

Dr. Bawumia’s vision includes enhancing the commercial viability of the Premier League, supporting clubs with funding and job creation, and implementing a Sports Employment Module through the National Lotteries Authority and the Gaming Commission to help cover operational costs, including player salaries.

Beyond sports, Dr. Bawumia also promised to construct an airport in the Upper East Region, a project he believes will significantly boost the region’s economic development and improve accessibility.

Furthermore, his manifesto includes plans to expand the railway network with a focus on the Western and Eastern Lines, in collaboration with private investors.
