Ghanaian actress Efia Odo recently opened up about her 2019 marriage during an episode of her podcast, surprising many with the details. The actress, who is also a restaurant owner, disclosed that she married a man in financial difficulty that year.
In her candid discussion, Efia Odo shared that the marriage lasted for two more years after she discovered her husband’s infidelity. “I was married in 2019. It was a private wedding with close family and friends. The man I married was broke and didn’t have anything. But I married him because I loved him and I thought love was enough to sustain the marriage. But he cheated on me on multiple occasions. That was when I asked for a divorce,” she recounted.
Reflecting on her past decisions, Efia admitted that her naivety contributed to her choice of partner. She expressed that her former spouse sought financial support through relationships with wealthy women. “I was young and naïve when I married him. But not anymore. Now I don’t date broke men. If he can’t provide for himself, why would he provide for me?” she added.
