“There is Wickedness in the Entertainment Industry” – OB Amponsah

Renowned Ghanaian comedian, OB Amponsah, has shared his candid thoughts on the challenges plaguing the country’s entertainment industry, specifically the film sector, during an appearance on UTV’s United Showbiz program.

OB Amponsah identified “wickedness” within the industry as a major obstacle, citing the practice of reserving certain roles for a select few actors. “If this actor isn’t available, it’s as if no one else is fit to take on the role,” he observed, highlighting the limitations this places on opportunities for emerging talents.

He attributed the industry’s struggles to a selfish mindset, where individuals seek to “have it all,” ultimately hindering progress. OB Amponsah emphasized the need for collaboration, talent discovery, and strategic thinking to build a sustainable future for the industry.

“If we don’t come together, any progress we make will likely collapse in the long run,” he cautioned, urging stakeholders to work towards a more inclusive and forward-thinking approach.
