John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has issued a stern warning to Ghanaians not to be deceived by the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) upcoming manifesto. Speaking during a community engagement in Juapong, Volta Region, Mahama lambasted the NPP, calling them a “government full of lies” for failing to fulfill their previous promises.
He criticized the NPP’s newly formed 11-member committee, tasked with launching their manifesto on August 18, 2024, in Takoradi, saying they will only bring more empty promises. Mahama emphasized that the NPP’s tactics are designed to hoodwink Ghanaians, urging them not to fall for their deception.
He recounted the NPP’s unfulfilled promises, saying, “They said one child, one egg, one child one chocolate, all are lies.” Mahama argued that Ghanaians have been fooled twice by the NPP and should not be fooled again, citing the proverb, “The third fool is the real fool.”
He emphasized that Ghana needs an experienced leader who has handled the country before and has a proven track record. Mahama positioned himself as the experienced hand, saying, “We are going back to experience, we are going back to expertise to turn our country around.”
He promised to prioritize the youth and ensure they have a brighter future, saying, “Our youth can have a brighter future under our leadership.” Mahama concluded by urging Ghanaians to reject the NPP’s false promises and embrace the NDC’s vision for a better Ghana.
