Samuel Nartey George, the prominent advocate for the anti-LGBTQ bill, has issued a warning to protesters planning to demonstrate against Chief Justice Gertrude Araba Esaaba Sackey Torkornoo.
He cautioned against wearing political party colors during the upcoming protest.
In a Tuesday interview, George emphasized that anyone showing up in party colors would face action from the Police. He stressed that the demonstration, scheduled for August 21, 2024, is intended to focus on national issues rather than political affiliations.
“We are not engaging in politics; we are coming with Ghanaian colors. This is about our children’s future,” he stated.
The protest is organized in response to delays in moving the anti-LGBTQ bill to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
Additionally, the Supreme Court has postponed its ruling on injunctions filed by Dr. Amanda Odoi and broadcast journalist Richard Sky, which aim to prevent the bill’s progress. The court is set to issue its ruling on the same day as the final judgment.
