Ghanaian Defender Patric Pfeiffer Joins Swiss Champions Young Boys on Loan

Augsburg center-back Patric Pfeiffer has secured a season-long loan move to Swiss Super League side Young Boys.

The 24-year-old, who struggled with injuries last season, will aim to gain regular playing time with the Bern-based club.

“After careful consideration, I believe this is the best step for my development,” Pfeiffer said. “Young Boys is a strong team that will provide me with valuable experience.”

Young Boys are optimistic about Pfeiffer’s impact, stating they expect him to contribute significantly with his character and defensive abilities.

The Ghanaian international could make his Champions League debut as early as August 21 when Young Boys face Galatasaray.

Pfeiffer, who switched his nationality from Germany to Ghana last month, is eligible to represent the Black Stars in upcoming AFCON qualifiers.

The loan deal does not include a purchase option, and Pfeiffer remains contracted to Augsburg until 2027.
