Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, a key figure in the New Patriotic Party (NPP), is confident that President Akufo-Addo’s contributions will be fully appreciated by Ghanaians once he exits office in 2025.

In a recent interview, Otchere-Darko emphasized that despite the current economic difficulties and global challenges, the successes of Akufo-Addo’s administration will be acknowledged in the future.

He highlighted the remarkable infrastructural progress made during Akufo-Addo’s seven-year presidency, particularly in the healthcare sector.

Otchere-Darko argued that no previous government has achieved the level of advancement in healthcare seen under Akufo-Addo. He pointed out that the improvements are evident in various metrics, such as the expansion of health facilities and personnel.

“Given the challenges of leadership and economic management, along with global difficulties, I am confident that Ghanaians will come to appreciate Akufo-Addo’s presidency more once he is no longer in office,” Otchere-Darko stated.

“In the healthcare sector alone, the achievements are unparalleled in the 4th Republic. Under Akufo-Addo, there has been significant progress, including the expansion of the National Health Insurance Scheme started by former President J.A. Kufuor. Additionally, over the past seven to eight years, more than 2,000 new staff members have been hired in the health sector, with over 22,000 doctors and around 165,000 nurses employed in recent years.”
