A brazen robbery took place in Wassa Dompoase, located in the Amenfi East Municipality of the Western Region, where a gang of seven armed robbers targeted a gold shop.
At approximately 1 p.m. on Monday, the robbers raided Humble Gold Buying Enterprise, confronting three shopkeepers inside. Brandishing guns and knives, they demanded the safe’s keys, which they believed one of the shopkeepers held.
After the shopkeeper denied having the keys, he was shot twice and is now in critical condition at the hospital.
The other two shopkeepers were also injured in the attack, suffering from gunshot wounds and knife stabs, but their conditions have stabilized.
The robbers managed to secure the keys and escape with two sacks filled with cash and gold. Authorities are currently searching for the suspects involved in this violent crime.
