Kan Dapaah: Erosion of Trust in Ghana’s Judiciary Threatens Electoral Stability

National Security Minister Albert Kan Dapaah has expressed deep concern about the diminishing trust in Ghana’s judiciary among politicians.

He noted that recent remarks by political figures regarding the upcoming December 7 elections are troubling.

During a forum in Accra, Kan Dapaah criticized the tendency of some politicians to undermine the judiciary, warning that this erosion of confidence could lead to a scenario where major political parties might refuse to seek judicial resolution for electoral disputes.

He highlighted that some senior political figures have publicly questioned the judiciary’s capability to fairly address election-related grievances, which could potentially lead to unrest.

Kan Dapaah emphasized the urgent need for a strong and transparent electoral system to ensure that all parties accept the results. He also called on Ghanaians to prioritize peace and reject violence, urging citizens to resist being manipulated by politicians and to accept election outcomes with grace.
