- Kyiv was the primary target
- Zelensky emphasized consistent supplies
Ukrainian forces have successfully repelled what they describe as one of the most intense drone attacks since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion.
The Ukrainian air force reported intercepting and destroying 89 Iranian-made explosive drones and one missile during the overnight barrage.
The capital city of Kyiv was the primary target, with falling debris causing damage to buildings in the surrounding region. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported thus far.
This latest attack marks over 29 months of relentless Russian bombardments, placing immense pressure on Ukraine’s air defenses.
While Moscow claims to be targeting military and energy infrastructure, residential areas have been frequently struck.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized the need for consistent and sufficient supplies to maintain the country’s ability to defend its skies against both drone and missile attacks, as well as Russian warplanes.
