Five individuals have been apprehended following a fatal shooting incident in Okanta, near Nsawam, in the Eastern Region.
Police officers and a civilian were ambushed while carrying out an arrest, resulting in the civilian’s death and injuries to an officer.
The subsequent investigation led to the arrest of the main suspect, identified as one of the individuals the officers were pursuing. Four accomplices were also taken into custody, and the weapon used in the attack has been recovered.
The injured police officer has been treated and released, while the body of the deceased civilian is awaiting autopsy.
