Stay Focused on Your Duties, Avoid Partisan Politics – Brigadier General Asare Warns Soldiers

Brigadier General Samuel Asare, Commanding Officer of the Southern Command, has urged soldiers to focus on their military duties and avoid engaging in partisan political activities. He emphasized the importance of preserving the sanctity of the Constitution of the Republic and doing so professionally.

Asare made these comments during the inauguration ceremony of a self-help facility for young soldiers at the Mauyoung Barracks in Apremdo, Western Region. The facility, completed within two years, has 14 one-chamber self-contained rooms for young soldiers.

Asare highlighted the barracks regeneration project across all garrisons, which demonstrates the government’s commitment to providing suitable accommodation for service personnel. The Command has benefited from this project, with 28 two-bedroom accommodation units in Myohaung Barracks and four two-bedroom units at Sefwi-Wiawso.

Asare spoke against the poor maintenance culture that has left many state facilities dilapidated, urging soldiers to maintain the building properly for future generations. He emphasized the importance of professionalism, saying it has endeared the soldiers to development partners.

Asare acknowledged the collective effort and support of the public and private sectors in meeting some of the logistical challenges of the Ghana Armed Forces.

Lieutenant Colonel Bondah, Commanding Officer of the 2BN, expressed gratitude to the Command Head, development partners, and the team for completing the building, praising the officers’ fortitude and job well executed.
