Haruna Tells Akufo-Addo: Mahama Will Win 2024 Elections and You Must Hand Over

During the launch of the NDC’s 2024 campaign in Tamale, Member of Parliament for Tamale South, Haruna Iddrisu, conveyed a clear message to President Akufo-Addo that the upcoming general elections will not be a coronation, but rather a victory for John Dramani Mahama, the NDC flagbearer.

Haruna emphasized that President Akufo-Addo will have no choice but to peacefully transfer power to Mr. Mahama once he wins the election.

The former Minority Leader while speaking during the launch of the NDC campaign in Tamale on Saturday, July 27, described Mahama as a leader with unparalleled experience, not one for experimentation, asserting that he will steer the country in the right direction.

Meanwhile, National Chairman of the NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, urged President Akufo-Addo to ensure a peaceful electoral process, cautioning against any use of security forces to intimidate political opponents.

On the other hand, Prof. Joshua Alabi, chairman of the NDC campaign team, predicted a defeat for the ruling NPP in the upcoming elections and assured supporters that the NDC will safeguard their votes.

Member of Parliament for Korle Klottey, Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, echoed the call to protect the integrity of the electoral process, urging NDC agents not to be swayed by financial inducements that could compromise their monitoring duties.

Sammy Gyamfi, National Communications Officer of the NDC, underscored the impending change of government, citing dissatisfaction with what he termed the “incompetent Akufo-Addo government” as grounds for voter rejection of the NPP.

Together, these statements reflect the NDC’s determination to secure victory in the 2024 elections and restore what they perceive as the country’s eroding democratic values.
