KNUST Student Aims to Shatter GWR with 48-Hour Gaming Marathon

A third-year Social Work student at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Azoumaro Vanessa Salese, is poised to make history with an audacious attempt at the Guinness World Record for the longest video game marathon.

Scheduled to take place on Friday, July 26, 2024, at the Republic Hall Common area on the KNUST campus, Vanessa will embark on an uninterrupted 48-hour gaming session, playing titles from the Ghost of Tsushima series.

The current record holder, Oside Oluwole, also known as “Khoded,” set the bar high with a 75-hour marathon playing a soccer game. Undaunted, Vanessa is determined to claim the top spot and etch her name in the record books.

The upcoming event has generated significant buzz among the student body and the wider community, with Vanessa extending an invitation to all to attend and support her during the marathon gaming session.

“I want to inspire others to pursue their unique goals and ambitions,” Vanessa said, showcasing her determination and ambition.

As the countdown begins, Vanessa’s bold endeavor is poised to make waves and potentially secure her place in the annals of gaming history.
