The five Paramount Chiefs in the Nadowli/Kaleo District of the Upper West Region have publicly endorsed Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s presidential bid. In a speech read on their behalf, the Paramount Chiefs highlighted the numerous developments in the district, including upgraded feeder roads, constructed bridges, and gravelled roads.
These developments, they emphasized, have significantly improved accessibility and facilitated economic activities in the area. The Chiefs expressed their appreciation for these developments and pledged to vote “massively” for the NPP Presidential Candidate.
They believe Dr. Bawumia will continue the good works undertaken by the present government and lead the nation to an enhanced level of development. The traditional authorities made this pledge on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, when Dr. Bawumia engaged with them and opinion leaders in the Nadowli/Kaleo Constituency.
The Chiefs declared, “Mr. Vice President, we pledge our support and that of the good people of Nadowli Kaleo Constituency to vote massively for you to become the President of the Republic of Ghana.” Dr. Bawumia thanked the Chiefs for their support and reiterated his promise to review Section 63 of the Constitution to grant adjudicatory powers to traditional authorities.
He also pledged to pay a Living Wage to Paramount and Divisional Chiefs and their Queens, recognizing their vital role in Ghanaian society. The endorsement by the five Paramount Chiefs is a significant boost to Dr. Bawumia’s campaign, demonstrating his growing support among traditional leaders and local communities.
