“Wa Traditional Leader Calls on Bawumia to Intervene in Deadly Clashes”

The Overlord of Wa, Naa Fuseini Seidu Pelpuo IV, has expressed deep concern and alarm over the rising number of serial killings in the area, which has left the community in a state of fear and uncertainty. The latest incident involves the gruesome murder of a middle-aged driver, whose body was found with his throat slit behind a trailer, sparking widespread outrage and calls for action.

This adds to the series of mysterious killings of security personnel, whose bodies have been found decapitated or with organs, including private parts, removed, leaving the community shaken and traumatized. The death toll has risen to 17 in the past three years, with no arrests made, despite efforts by the police and security agencies to apprehend the perpetrators.

The Wa Naa made a passionate appeal to Vice President Dr. Mahamud Bawumia to use his influence and office to help address the situation and bring relief to the people of Wa. Speaking during Dr. Bawumia’s campaign tour, the Wa Naa urged him to enhance the capacity of the Wa and Upper West Police Command, citing the need for additional personnel and logistics.

He specifically requested patrol vehicles and other essential equipment to enable the police to effectively address the current security challenges and protect the people. The Wa Naa believes that with Dr. Bawumia’s support, they can strengthen the police presence in Wa and ensure the safety and wellbeing of the people, who are living in fear of the unknown.

Dr. Bawumia assured the people of Wa that they would benefit more under his presidency and appealed for their support in winning the election, promising to prioritize their security and development needs. He emphasized that the north and Wa state would benefit more from eight years of his presidency than four years of the other option, highlighting his commitment to addressing the region’s unique challenges.
