“Strange Things Are Happening After Meeting with Mahama” – Dr. Nduom
- Dr. Nduom petitions Mahama to restore GN Bank's license if he wins the election
- Mahama criticizes the NPP government's banking sector cleanup, promising an independent review
- Dr. Nduom alleges political vilification and a grand scheme to counter his claims after the meeting
The Global President of Groupe Nduom, Dr. Nduom, has expressed concerns about political vilification after petitioning former President John Dramani Mahama to restore GN Bank’s license if he wins the upcoming December 7 elections.
During a meeting with Mahama on Friday, July 19, Dr. Nduom highlighted the deteriorating state of GN Bank’s 300 centers across the country, following the revocation of its license by the Bank of Ghana in August 2019.
Mahama criticized the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government’s decision to revoke the licenses of several indigenous financial institutions during the 2019 banking sector cleanup, calling it a hasty action. He promised to restore the licenses of these banks after an independent review of the entire banking sector cleanup exercise.
However, Dr. Nduom alleged that “strange things are happening” after the meeting, claiming that there is a grand scheme by NPP communicators to use Bank of Ghana statistics to counter his claim that the government owes him a significant amount of money.
Dr. Nduom urged Mahama to prioritize the reinstatement of GN Bank if he is elected, aiming to restore jobs and alleviate the suffering of those affected.
