The family of Theophilus Ansah, a final-year science student at Ghana National College in Cape Coast, mourns the loss of their son and points accusing fingers at the school’s authorities, alleging negligence as the cause of his demise.
According to a report Ms. Lucy Quianoo, the family spokesperson, voiced their distress, stating, “We entrusted our son to the school, but they failed him. The school’s negligence has cost us our son. We demand justice and accountability.”
Ms. Quianoo recounted how on June 28, Theophilus had called his mother complaining of illness and was allegedly directed to an unstaffed school infirmary. Despite his deteriorating condition, including vomiting during a mock exam, she claimed that the school did not provide adequate assistance, leading to his eventual passing at a hospital.
The family’s outcry has resonated widely, sparking discussions about the need for improved healthcare services and emergency response protocols in educational institutions.
