Adele Announces Extended Break from Music After Current Concert Run

Adele has revealed plans to take an extended break from music after her current run of concerts, citing an empty “tank” and a desire to explore other creative pursuits.

In an interview with German broadcaster ZDF, Adele stated, “My tank is quite empty at the minute. I don’t have any plans for new music at all. I want a big break after all this and I think I want to do other creative things just for a little while.”

The star’s last album was released in 2021, and she has spent the past two years playing a weekend residency in Las Vegas, recently completing her 90th show at Caesar’s Palace. The show is due to conclude in November, and Adele described the experience as emotionally draining.

Adele’s Munich shows will be on a entirely different scale to the Las Vegas residency, with 74,000 fans expected to watch her every night in a specially-built “pop up” stadium. The venue will also host an “Adele experience” featuring an English pub, a stage for a cover band, and stalls selling specially designed cocktails.

Despite the success of her concerts, Adele admitted that she struggles with the limelight and misses being anonymous. “I miss everything about before I was famous, I think probably being anonymous the most,” she said.

Adele’s break from music will follow her upcoming Munich shows, which are yet to sell out. Tickets are still available, with prices ranging from €79 to €430.
