Stonebwoy, Ghana’s iconic Afro-dancehall artiste, was celebrated at the 25th TGMA “Industry Mixer” for his impressive wins at the 2024 Ghana Music Awards. The event, organized by Charterhouse Ghana, brought together influential executives and stakeholders in Ghana’s creative economy.
Stonebwoy was presented with his official TGMA plaques after delivering an outstanding performance. In his acceptance speech, he expressed his gratitude to the industry, saying, “I humbly just want to say thank you guys [industry] so much for supporting the Ghana Music Awards. This is the only one we have. For me, if I have to work harder 100 times and win what is deserved 100 times, I think it’s in the right way for Ghana music.”
At the 25th Telecel Ghana Music Awards, held on June 1, 2024, Stonebwoy made history by winning seven categories, including “Best Reggae and Dancehall Artiste” for a record eighth time, “Best Album/EP,” “Best International Collaboration,” “Record of the Year,” “Best Songwriter,” “Best Collaboration,” and the ultimate prize, “Artiste of the Year.” This achievement makes him the second most-awarded artiste in a single night since the scheme’s inception.
Stonebwoy has recently released a new single, “Your Body,” a beautiful masterpiece celebrating African beauty, self-love, and body positivity. The song is a precursor to his highly anticipated sixth studio album, slated for release later this year.
