Gov’t to Launch New STEM Schools Nationwide in September – Adutwum

The Ministry of Education has reaffirmed its commitment to advancing Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education with the imminent inauguration of specialized educational institutions spanning kindergarten through secondary levels.

These schools, including the Accra STEM Academy, Sunyani STEM Academy, and Bosomtwe Public School, are set to be unveiled in September.

Addressing attendees at the inauguration of Wisconsin University’s state-of-the-art cybersecurity, digital forensic, STEM, and artificial intelligence laboratory, Education Minister Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum outlined plans to equip secondary schools with cutting-edge technology to bolster STEM learning.

“These are newly established STEM schools nationwide, spearheaded by the government. They include newly constructed junior high schools equipped with dedicated biology, chemistry, and physics laboratories. Our aim is a transformative shift in education across the country, with several slated for commissioning this September.”
