Gaza Hospital Overwhelmed As Israeli Offensive Intensifies
- Marawan al-Sultan described the situation as "catastrophic"
- The hospital is treating dozens of patients
- Israeli bombardment in Bureij killed at least four children
The Indonesian Hospital in northern Gaza has become the primary functioning medical facility in the region, as Israel’s military offensive has forced the closure of numerous hospitals and clinics in Gaza City.
The hospital is struggling to cope with the influx of patients, with 80 received from the closed al-Ahly hospital in eastern Gaza City.
Hospital director Marawan al-Sultan described the situation as “catastrophic,” with patients at risk due to a fuel shortage affecting generator operation.
The hospital is treating dozens of patients, including those wounded in intense fighting between Israel and Hamas.
Meanwhile, an Israeli bombardment in Bureij killed at least four children and injured four others, with the bodies taken to Al-Aqsa Hospital in Deir al-Balah.
Efforts for a ceasefire, led by Egypt, Qatar, and the US, continue amid the devastating nine-month conflict, which has claimed over 38,000 lives in Gaza, according to the Health Ministry.
