Ghanaian singer Wendy Shay, signed to RuffTown Records, has revealed her intention to build a hospital as part of her corporate social responsibility. In an exclusive interview with CNN African Voice Changemakers, the “Bedroom Commando” hitmaker stated, “I nurse people through my music and my deeds…. I do a lot of charity work… I have the plan to build a Hospital … It is part of my social responsibilities.”
This announcement comes after a series of philanthropic endeavors by Wendy Shay through her Shay Foundation. On November 20, 2023, she donated teaching and learning materials to pupils at the Weija Presbyterian Primary and Junior High School in the Greater Accra Region, commemorating International Children’s Day.
On her birthday, February 20, she visited the Paediatric Theatre at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, her birthplace, and donated essential items like baby cots and a digital baby scale. She also covered the medical bills and discharged mothers who had given birth on her birthday.
Additionally, on March 5, she donated GhC10,000.00 to late Highlife legend KK Kabobo, who was undergoing treatment for a liver disease at the University of Ghana Hospital.
