Paris 2024: A Blend Of Experience and Youthful Energy
- The Games will showcase a vast spectrum of age
- Haohao will be the youngest Olympian in Paris
- Haohao could etch her name in history
The Paris 2024 Olympics promise an exciting mix of seasoned veterans and rising stars battling for glory. From the legendary 50-year-old (soon to be 51) British skateboarder Andy Macdonald to the phenomenal 11-year-old Chinese skateboarder Zheng Haohao, the Games will showcase a vast spectrum of age and experience.
Haohao, who secured her spot through qualifiers, will be the youngest Olympian in Paris.
This follows the trend of skateboarding’s young talent – the Tokyo 2020 Games saw the youngest ever Olympic podium, with 13-year-old gold medalist Momiji Nishiya (Japan) and silver medalist Rayssa Leal (Brazil).
With a potential medal win, Haohao could etch her name in history as the youngest summer Olympian medalist, surpassing the record held by American Marjorie Gestring (gold in diving at 13 years and 268 days in 1936).
