President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has expressed his unwavering confidence in the ability of the Bawumia-Opoku Prempeh ticket to deliver on the job and meet the expectations of Ghanaians. The President made this statement at the Manhyia Palace on Tuesday, July 9, during the unveiling of the NPP’s flagbearer and running mate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh.
Akufo-Addo, who has worked closely with both Bawumia and Opoku Prempeh, vouched for their hard work and qualities, stating that he has trust and confidence in their ability to get the job done. He expressed his belief that on December 7, when Ghanaians give them the mandate, they will work tirelessly to meet the expectations of the country.
The National Council of the NPP had earlier unanimously endorsed the selection of Dr. Opoku Prempeh as the running mate at an emergency meeting in Accra on Thursday, July 4. Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, in his acceptance speech, assured members and supporters of the NPP that he will support Dr. Bawumia in prosecuting a formidable 2024 campaign to break the 8-year election cycle.
He emphasized that the task ahead requires collective effort and called upon all members of the NPP to join hands to achieve their ambitious goal of transforming Ghana into a prosperous nation. Opoku Prempeh’s acceptance speech was met with thunderous applause from the crowd, indicating their approval and support for the ticket.
