Mahama Asserts Zero Tolerance for Government Officials Buying State Assets

John Dramani Mahama, leader of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has firmly declared that his administration will not permit government officials to acquire state assets.

This statement comes amidst concerns about current officials allegedly possessing and purchasing state assets.

Addressing reporters in Accra on Sunday, Mahama stressed the need for a change in attitudes among appointees and public office holders.

He emphasized the importance of appointing individuals who are modest, humble, and dedicated to improving the lives of young people. “We will hold them to a higher standard of service. It is impermissible for them to acquire state-owned property,” he asserted.

He further emphasized, “No one in my administration will be authorized to purchase any state asset, whether it’s vehicles, buildings, land, or any other form of property.”
