Ghanaian songstress Wendy Shay has spoken out about her recent breakup, revealing that ending the relationship was the best decision she ever made.

In an interview on the “U Cook” show with Empress Gifty, Wendy Shay shared that the split led to a creative surge, inspiring some of her hit songs. “I am free now, and I think it is one of the best decisions I took. Sometimes it is good to leave some people,” she said.

The Ruff Town Records artiste acknowledged that she wasn’t putting in the work required for the relationship, as her career demands took priority. However, the breakup still hurt her deeply, emphasizing that “broken heart does not care if you’re a celebrity or not. It is clear a no respecter of person.”

Wendy Shay also addressed rumors of a ‘diss’ song aimed at her manager and CEO of Ruff Town records, Bullet, following a recent contract dispute. She clarified that her song “Who Cares” was not a diss track, but rather a personal heartbreak song dedicated to a friend who snatched her man from her.

The “African Money” hitmaker has been making waves globally, performing in countries like South Africa, New Zealand, and Fiji Island, with her song “Survivor” generating significant revenue.
