Fifi Kwetey, General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has criticized the Electoral Commission (EC), alleging its bias towards the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He emphasized that the EC’s actions indicate a close alliance with the NPP, stating that the NDC does not have confidence in the commission.
Fiifi Kwetey stressed the importance of the EC remaining impartial and regaining the trust of all political parties, asserting that its role is to facilitate fair elections without favoring any party.
In an interview, Fiifi Kwetey remarked, “The EC needs to understand that its role is not to secure victories for any party, be it NDC or NPP.
This is essential for rebuilding our confidence. Our interaction with the Electoral Commission has become strained due to a lack of trust.”
Fiifi Kwetey also called on the NDC to prepare rigorously for the upcoming electoral challenges, likening it to how Azumah Nelson approached his significant bout in Australia.
