Regional Minister Visits Collapsed Boinso Bridge, Promises Swift Reconstruction

Western North Regional Minister Joojo Rocky Obeng has visited the site of the collapsed Boinso bridge, assessing the damage and reassuring residents that reconstruction efforts will commence immediately. The bridge, which connects Enchi and Elubo, collapsed on Sunday, leaving residents and travelers stranded.

While no casualties were reported, the collapse has isolated Boinso and surrounding communities, impacting local businesses and access to essential services. Regional Minister Obeng, accompanied by Western North Regional Highway Director Ing. Ernest Osei Bonsu, inspected the damage and engaged with local chiefs and residents.

“We are committed to rebuilding the bridge as swiftly as possible to ensure the smooth movement of people and goods in the area,” Minister Obeng assured the community. Discussions with the Roads Minister and other stakeholders are underway to expedite the reconstruction process.

Ing. Ernest Osei Bonsu expressed confidence in their ability to rebuild the bridge within three weeks, contingent upon funding availability. Efforts are also being made to expedite the construction of a new bridge, providing a more permanent solution.

The Minister’s visit and assurances have brought hope to the affected communities, who are eagerly awaiting the reconstruction of the critical bridge.
