President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has decided to extend the tenure of Auditor-General Johnson Akuamoah Asiedu for an additional two years, beyond his scheduled retirement date.
Mr. Asiedu, who took office in 2021 following the departure of Daniel Yao Domelevo, was originally set to retire on August 1, 2024. His appointment as Auditor-General was formalized on August 27, 2021, after serving previously as Acting Auditor-General.
Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia administered Mr. Asiedu’s oath of office.
